Elddis Transport provide range of services based around Distribution, Transport and Warehousing.


Operations
The Traffic Office at Elddis Transport is operated from 08.00 hrs Sunday Morning until 16:00 hrs on a Saturday. This provides comprehensive backup to our fleet of vehicles, which operate 24 hours per day 7 days per week. An ever-increasing number of companies are developing stockless inventory systems, adopting Just in Time stock replenishment policies. As a consequence the majority of the deliveries are made to defined times, many to the major supermarket chains, where performance and service levels are of paramount importance.

As a company we recognise the commitments given to us by our customers and we actively develop these working partnerships through regular review meetings and internal monitoring systems. A Customer Services Manager is employed with the responsibility of monitoring our performance and providing daily reports to numerous key personnel and customers.

The transport operations are complimented by over 250,000 sq. ft of warehousing predominately in the North East of England. This warehousing is of the highest level and is maintained to food hygiene standards.

Administration
A comprehensive administration department backs up our operational activities. In addition to the normal accounts function we have several other key admin areas:

Our pallet management department is responsible for not only managing the Elddis Chep pallet account, but also manages the pallet resources for several key accounts.

Our dedicated POD department is responsible for the processing and control of all proof of deliveries. A further investment to compliment this department has just been completed and we are now starting to role out a programme in which all POD's will be scanned and stored electronically. This will allow us to access copy POD's quickly and either e-mail or fax copies direct to customers immediately. Alongside the updating of our website, we intend to offer web based POD access for those customers that require such a service.

The entire administration and accounts function within Elddis is operated through a Mandata computer network. This network additionally controls our warehouse management function, document scanning and e-mail system and is fully backed up through a comprehensive support contract.
